April Bucket List – Top Things to do in April

Spring is fully in the air and the weather is certainly starting to improve. This April Bucket List is full of plenty of outdoor activity suggestions and ideas of things to do in April you can do both individually and with other people.

I’ve also added in a couple of ideas for next Spring once travel is allowed.

Play a Trick for April Fool’s Day

April 1st is April Fools Day so why not think of an original trick or joke to play on your family and friends.

Have a Game of Crazy Golf

A great activity with friends and family on a Saturday afternoon. Both indoor and outdoor can be fun and brings out competitiveness in all of us.

Buy a Bunch of Daffodils

Is there any plant that signifies Spring more than daffodils? And the scent they give off is just divine. A small bunch in your house will also be a nice little pick me up.

Go For a Long Dog Walk in the Countryside

Our furry friends enjoy a good long walk as much as we do. If you don’t have a dog of your own then why not borrow a friends or volunteer at your local rescue shelter.

Stop and See the Bluebells

I couldn’t have an April Bucket List without mentioning Bluebells. They are springing up all over the place in April and that wonderful carpet of blue is a beautiful site. They will mainly be found in woodlands and really give a sense of Spring being in the air.

Spring Clean Your Garden

Start enjoying time outside and dust off your patio area. If you have a patio heart or wood burner you can enjoy the lighter evenings and still keep warm. Now is also a great time to clean up the shed or greenhouse.

Celebrate Earth Day

22nd April marks Earth Day which is a day to take note about environmental issues and learn more about what we can do to protect the planet and improve our consumption.

For more information check out the official Earth Day website here

Visit Your Nearest National Park

Here is the UK most people are never more than a couple of hours away from one of our beautiful national parks. So pack up a picknick, grab your walking boots and go and enjoy the wonderful scenery for a day or a long weekend.

Renovation a Piece of Furniture

Have you got a bit of furniture that has been waiting for a revamp? Why not take a day to spend giving it a new lease of life

Visit a Botanical Garden or Park

Now is the time when plants really start to spring to life and botanical gardens are a great place to see a large variety in one place.

Spend an afternoon admiring a peaceful garden this April.

Enjoy In Season Produce

At this time of year the likes of Rhbard and Asaragus can be found in abundance. Eating in season food is much better for the planet and it means you can experiment on a new dish or two.

Make a Bird House

There are many kits you can buy online to make your own bird house and once you have it placed in your garden you’ll feel a real sense of satisfaction when your feathered friends start using it.

Go for a Run

If like me you are a fair weather runner then you will now start to run out of excuses not to go. So put on those trainers, and go for a jog. You’ll feel better after, I promise.

Spend Time with a Sibling

April 10th marks National Sibling Day so why not take some time to hang out with your sibling and reminisce on your childhood memories.

Try a New Activity

Because the weather is getting warmer now is a great time to try and activity and perfect it over the summer. Why not give something such as surfing, mountain boarding or paddle boarding a go?

Post Covid Restriction Goals

Tulip Festival in The Netherlands

April is the perfect time to visit the Netherlands and see the stunning array of Tulip fields across the country.

See the Cherry Blossom in Japan

This one has been on my own Bucket List for a long time and so I thought it would be a good one to add to the April Bucket List. From Late March to Mid April is the best time to see the breathtaking beauty of the Cherry Blossom across Japan.
